Every Sunday, a man called Martin prepares a great number of potatoes, which then get added to many meals provided for homeless people, and those in need, around Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
For this task, he uses a noisy peeling machine. He has a love/hate relationship with this apparatus; it being both useful to his task, but also a noisy and relentless companion breaking the calm of his eardrum!
This piece is made of a collection of sounds that Martin hears every Sunday whilst working at The People's Kitchen, Bath Lane. This is the sound that surrounds his good work.
Martin's Lug is dedicated to the man himself, and all who face a day-to-day struggle. Let us leave no-one behind.
